Today, we met with my oncologist, Dr. Chunduri, to discuss the next steps in my treatment for stage 2B breast cancer. He was incredibly kind and thorough, explaining everything clearly with helpful diagrams, which made the process feel much less overwhelming.
The plan includes several pre-chemo tests to make sure my body is ready for the treatment. I'll be getting a mammogram with contrast (since I didn't do well with my MRI), an echocardiogram, a PET scan, and surgery to insert a port. These tests will help ensure that I’m in the best possible shape before starting chemotherapy, which could begin in two weeks, depending on my upcoming consultation about my uterine fibroids.
I wasn’t aware of how many tests would be needed before starting chemo. It’s a bit overwhelming, but I’m trying to focus on what’s in front of me and take it one step at a time. As long as we keep moving forward, we are moving in the right direction.
One day at a time, one step at a time--All things happen in God's time.
